LJ is the founder and Managing Partner of Oxigen. He has a strong background and diverse experience in sponsorship management, brand strategy, public relations and digital marketing on national and international levels. LJ studied PR and Communications at North-West University after which he started his career at a Johannesburg based agency. After gaining experience working for a number of corporate communication and sponsorship agencies, LJ founded Oxigen Communications in 2010 and since then has brought a diverse portfolio onto Oxigen’s table and made it into one of South Africa’s fastest growing agencies.
Dr Jannie Botha
Dr Jannie Botha is one of the most well-known and respected sports psychologists in South Africa and is registered in South Africa as well as in the United Kingdom. He specializes in the psychology behind performance enhancement and strives to guide individuals and teams toward a heightened level of mental conditioning. He is also an international motivational speaker within the fields of both business and sport. Dr Botha is Oxigen’s official brand ambassador assisting the Oxigen management team with strategic guidance on new clients and business development. He also provides psychological guidance and support to the entire team.
Natasja is a trained and awarded leader in the field of systems, strategies and development, a mover and shaker whose heart matches her skills set. She is an Operational Systems and Strategy Specialist, who focuses on the Human Resources at Oxigen. Her task is to streamline systems and optimise potential. Natasja has a great passion for people and their abilities and strives to develop every employee into the best version of themselves. Natasja comes from a background of development, as a founder of the Incuvest Incubator, where small businesses had the opportunity to grow under her leadership.
Chris is our very skillful in-house graphic designer. He studied a National Diploma in Graphic Design at the Vaal University of Technology. He was the official photographer providing coverage at the 2015 Varsity Cup; he has also been involved in the rebranding of VUT and has recorded music videos as a videographer. Chris has remarkable patience which is key when working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. His ability to work under pressure whilst being approachable and friendly ensures that he always delivers his best work. Chris has an exceptional level of versatility which ensures that our clients always have the edge when it comes to every aspect of design within their company.
Nicola has over a decade of experience in publishing, content marketing, brand communications, PR management and strategy. Currently she fulfills the dual roles of brand communications strategist and content generation on the Oxigen team. Always looking to drive growth within clients’ businesses, Nicola strives to ensure that all Oxigen client communications are strategically approached for maximum impact. When it comes to work, Nicola has two passions – coffee and making a real change in her client’s businesses. She is no stranger to the all night strategy session if that is what it takes to get the job done!
Monique Ingenbleek, the ‘new kid on the block’, was studying BA Sport and Recreation Management when she arrived to work as an intern at Oxigen. After just one day in the office she decided that ‘this is the life’ and changed her major to Marketing. Monique has proved that this is indeed the career for her showing that she is a loyal, well-organised team player who believes that hard work pays off. Her goal is to learn as much as she can, to build new relationships and to build a life that she doesn’t need a vacation from.
Kobie Swart is a 57 years ‘young’ Admin Manager at Oxigen. Kobie kicked off her career in the SANDF and progressed to the rank of Sergeant Major…no she is not your usual strict Sergeant Major but loved the discipline and routine of army life. While in the army, she received several awards for outstanding services rendered in the personnel department. She continued her career and worked in the admin department of Xstrata Alloys, now known as Glencore. In her spare time she likes knitting, crochet and reading but most of all spending time with her family.
Christel studied a BA degree in Corporate Communication at Varsity College after which she gained experience in the field of marketing & communications by working for various small businesses. She enjoys the challenge of putting companies on the map through using content marketing, web design and social media management. As an account management assistant at Oxigen, she puts her abilities to represent a brand accurately to good use and ensures that our clients are always viewed with admiration by external stakeholders. Christel has a passion for South Africa and the upliftment of women and aims to make a lasting contribution to society by utilizing her skills and knowledge.
Carina studied communications at North-West University and joined Oxigen Communications after gaining agency experience in public relations and social media management. She is a supportive team player and enjoys tackling challenges with others to bring the best concepts to the table for clients and make those concepts come to life, building brands through various platforms used in the communications industry. Her small-town charm and positive outlook on life leaves a mark on the people her path cross with and she is a firm believer that random acts of kindness can make the difference society needs.
Bradley Wilson, AKA “Spiderman”, as called by colleagues for his web skills, is a full stack Web Developer and Google AdWords specialist at Oxigen Communications. Bradley has programming experience in over 15 languages and can apply his web development skills in diverse environments. He is passionate about the web and its advancements and has a vision to change the website development game in South Africa and to take it to the next level by meeting and exceeding international development standards. His ability to problem solve is his biggest strength. He is able to identify opportunities and create innovative solutions.
